Hi,

I am about to purchase my first Breitling... I have checked the available models (Super Avenger, Avenger Seawolf, Steelfish...) and have realized that the serie Avenger M1 and Seawolf are all in Titanium...which disapointed me a bit.

In general, I prefer the steel look (titanium looks a bit "old" or "plastic" to me), thus I would go for the steelfish.

Do you have an opinion or suggestion on this? Is titanium a better option for a long term?

Thanks and best regards from Switzerland!

I prefer the look and feel and weight of steel... but many prefer titanium for the exact reasons that I prefer steel! I like to have a variety, however. I have a couple of Titanium watches, but prefer my steel ones overall.

I would go with the steel. Steel can be brushed or polished to a mirrior shine!

:yeahthat Pretty much the same for me. Unless you have a real need for one type of metal or the other (e.g. allergies, or if you need extreme light weight for some reason), then it's pretty much down to a matter of personal preference.

Personally I think a big lump of shiny stainless steel on your wrist is hard to beat! But others swear by titanium.... Sounds to me like you are a steel man!

Looks like great minds think alike! Every showcase I have ever seen has been sparkling brilliantly, when its filled with steel. The titanium looks as if a cloud is over that watch.

To contradict myself- they have a great purpose in life though, I wish I could have a collection of watches because titanium would certainly be in it- but for a first Breitling- look at the 3 previous posters, all have high quality taste, and you see steel is the way to go!

Dear All,

Thank you very much for your answers and opinions... now I am more convinced that it was not just my idea and steel is a better option, at least for "good looking" purposes!

I will let you know as soon as I get the watch and will put some photos here. I think I will go for the Steelfish with black sphere and Professional II bracelet.

Regards from Zurich!

Personally I went for Ti, because you hardly see any other watches / jewelry made from it, plus also all my jewelry is Ti. I'll post some pics in the gallery when I get time.
Obviously just my personal opinion chaps, if we were all the same it would be a boring old world. :D

Hi Alejandro

I had the same dilemma as you a week ago. I too have bought my first Breitling. I was torn between the Avenger Seawolf and the Steelfish. In the end I went with the fish and am EXTREMELY happy with my choice. I knew that steel was the right choice for me because when I picked up the Seawolf I immediately did not like the way it felt. It felt like plastic and for the amount of money I was paying I wanted to have a watch that also felt expensive.

Let us know when you get your watch, would love to see pics
