Just heard from my AD that prices are about to go up with 6.5 % shortly.

Anyone else heard about this, or is it just in Sweden?

I think with the slow sales in nearly all markets of items that consumer spending is WAY down.
I suspect they can add the price rise but ADs will only have to discount it if they want a sale.
At least that's my theory and I'm banking on it (some more watches ordered).

I talked to my AD today and he said they weren't told anything about prices increasing.

This is the time of year when prices are reviewed for any currency fluctuations that have put a particular country out of line - Canadian prices were lowered this time last year because of the surge in the Canadian $ relative to the US $, but there isn't generally an across the board price increase.

I would think that if Sweden is going to see an increase then it's curreny related rather than anything else - it's tough times for a wholesale increase.

Hmmm.. it must be related to the value-drop of the Swedish krona.
In times like these smaller currencies drops fast.

I'm willing to bet Australian prices will be going up soon - currency fluctuations have put us a long way out of step.

I heard Omegas are going up 20% across the board in a week or so. :(

hopefully not....when mine was purchased this year the dealer said it had gone up due to higher raw material costs because of oil...

lesson in finance"

when oil goes up all goes up...passing on cost to consumers method

corporations will not survive unless they do this...

hopefully they dont go up in price!

OK, it is confirmed - the Swedish pricelist is up by 6.5%!

An example: the Chronomat TT with rose gold bezel:

77 000 SEK ~ 10 K USD (roughly).

Incredible... as if this would stimulate the sales... NOT.

Crazy times we live in.

This is strange - Cos Prices here in Dubai have been SLASHED! A New SA (batons) with Pro2 now costs AED 14,600 or US$ 3975 after the AD's usual 15% discount and a price slash.

Spoke to a couple of distributor contacts here in Canada and for them the issue is where the watches are sourced. It's all to do with the recent currency fluctuations so for Breitling there is little impact because they are coming directly from Switzerland and the CHF to CAD exchange has been relatively stable.

However for Zenith the US distributor has all North American rights, including Canada. Therefore the Canadian distributor buys the watch from the NA distributor in USD. Because of the dramatic swing in the currency the Canadian Zenith prices are slated for a 25% increase.
