I've been a watch nerd for as long as I can remember and became a serial flipper chasing the grail, which as we know, never seems to come.
Many of the watch 'people' I came across on forums and the like snubbed Breitling, but as one of my favourite brands, had MANY. The biggest selling regret was probably a Headwind and the most owned, sold, rebought certainly the Emergency. I've had a dozen or so in all dial variants, but they all went in the scramble to get the expensive (AP/Rolex etc) pieces, which I've now cashed in whilst prices are bonkers.
I do have a custom Dornblüth Regulator on order and the two year wait is nearly up, so that will be my daily wearer. But I needed something fun for the weekends and any 'rough and tumble' activities. It had to be an Emergency.
The first reasonably priced one I saw was a yellow dial, so went for it. No sooner it arrived a black dial popped up on eBay, with a misspelt model reference, so there was little activity and I bought at a good price. Both are full kits, the yellow has a Pro I bracelet, the black a Pro II. Add a black military canvas and a green military calf and I literally have all eventualities covered and can use all straps across both watches.
The issue now is, do I go for the full set and pick up blue and coral dials, or leave it at that?
So, that's it really, just wanted to say hello after a long absence and show off my latest incomings.
