Hello all -

Are the spring pins for the croc strap 24-20mm same those for the bracelet ? Can they be used for both strap and bracelet ?

I am looking for some authentic spring pins for 24-20mm cro strap —

Does any one here have some for sale ?

To the best of my knowledge the springbars are different for leather ends than those of a bracelet. One, if I remember correctly the ones for the bracelet are thicker in diameter than those for leather.

Thank you. I was told the same thing but feel it’s other way round. Ones for the leather strap are slightly thicker than those for the bracelets.

Do you know any one selling authentic pins ?

The pins for bracelets are tapered slightly at the very ends that fit into the lugs. Spring pins for straps are more cylindrical at the ends, more squared off. You can use the spring pins for bracelets on straps, but not the other way around. The more square ends won’t fit into the lugs. As far as I can tell, the overall diameter of the actual pin is the same for both. It’s just the small end-pieces that are different.

A fellow named Ron from some of the other forums posted some pics of the differences... very helpful... but this was years ago. Maybe someone else can recall or has those pics.

Cheers

Ross

I agree with Time2time on this as the ends of the of bracelet spring bars are pointed while the strap ones aren't, although if memory serves (and unfortunately I don't have both types to hand) I think the bracelet spring bars are marginally narrower than the strap ones. Conventional advice here and elsewhere was that the narrower spring bars can result in the bar cutting into the leather more over time. To be honest, you're always best to have the right tool for the job, no matter what you're doing, so if I was the OP I'd be getting a proper and correct set from an AD (or direct from Breitling).
