It's not only the movement/WR that needs to be robust - all parts need to be. It's the old words about the chain not being stronger than its weakest link and so on. A few years back I was out driving a small quad on a forest dirt track, wearing a Tag at the moment. Then I tried to go between two trees but the were just a little bit too narrow, so the tip ends of the handle bars were caught by the trees. The quad stopped directly of course, but the impact completely slashed the springbars and I had to look very long to find the watch and the bracelet. The watch had travelled quite a bit further than the bracelet...

Hi, i never wear my breilting to the beach: still babying them. I wear the colt auto II for tennis and bed at night while the cso goes to the office with me. Never to the swimming pool or the beach: i have a tag or a casio for water activities.

For what its worth.

I have,..correction HAD a Breitling Superocean Professional - 99, SS band

It came off my wrist only to shower and to sleep. Part of my sastisfaction is the item was designed to be used and a lot of their motto is for the professional so to me if not on your wrist in use, same as the sports car that never sees the road. You can be a collector or a user. Nothing wrong with either. But I happened to buy my Breitling for quality and durability.

Military service - combat focused special operations
Cliff Jumping
Bungee Jumping
Camping-Hiking-Climbing
Mexico 3X hiking explorong Mayan ruins
Pacific Ocean
Atlantic Ocean
Lake Tahoe
Caribbean Sea
More rivers & lakes than I can count (including whitewater, blue water, brown water)
Shooting
Many Flights
swimming
snorkeling
virtually every temperature and or climate
caked in mud
frozen
equator sun

You get the idea, I could go on and on and on and well...

Bear Grylls wears one and if thats not enough the ONLY thing that I have found that was hell was fine sand. I Had to take the bezel screws out and perform a serious cleaning. Otherwise rinsed in fresh water and dried. Cleaned with a toothbrush when needed and the watch was still in fantastic condition. I would expect nothing less from Breitling.

Just so you know some of them get used and used hard.

Ofcourse, everything I mentioned is nothing more than my views or opinions.

Breitling makes so many models If it were possible I would own several. Some would be protected and sheltered and others used hard but all would be treasured
