Hi All,
I've wanted to purhcase a nice watch for sometime and have been torn between a Tag Heur Carerra and a Breitling Transocean. After doing some searching online I've decided to go with a transocean and have came across the below watch and have a few question I'm hoping you can help me out with.

http://www.shopccj.com/watches/mint-men ... watch.html

How concerned should I be that the original box and paperwork are not available?

Or is this just more necessary if I was planning on selling the watch in the future? Which I'm not planning on.

How suitable is this watch for everyday?

How do you think the watch is priced all things considered?

Are there any specifics I should be requesting of the store prior to purchase? I did request some better high resolution pictures yesterday.

Thanks in advnace,
Dave

First, imo, the watch is fine for everyday use, changing straps can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. The standard response with respect to pricing on used watches would be to compare final "sold" auctions on eBay for the same watch or to look at prices on chrono24. Bear in mind the prices on chrono24 are asking prices and not necessarily what the watch will sell for! I would be concerned about the lack of paperwork, the box is nice but not neccesary. The lack of paperwork would indicate that you will not have a warranty for the watch, brand new this watch would come with a five year warranty from Breitling which is transferable. The dealer may offer his own warranty but will not have access to genuine parts if necessary. I think that if you search around you could find the same watch with all paperwork, boxes, and remaining warranty close to the price listed in the ad. Just my two cents!

You may want to have a look at the buy/sell/trade section of this forum.
There is a similarly priced nice blue dial limited edition with all boxes, papers and original warranty with 4+ years left on it.
