Hi guys

I've been a long time lurker of these forums but I haven't posted anything. I need your advice on what to do, I've got a Breitling Transocean Chronograph LE and the AR Coating has left the crystal in such a bad state.

Is there anyway I can rub it off without damaging the watch? I've tried getting a micro fibre cloth and really rubbing at it to see if I could "peel" is away but that didn't work.

I've attached a photo of the damage, let me know your thoughts.

Cape Cod cloth can do it but it will be a long and tedious process.

Am on a phone so can't see the picture clearly but Sunshine / Cape Cod cloths will remove AR, as will Polywatch.

Edit, zak57 already mentioned Cape Cod. Polywatch will be quickest.

Thanks for the info guys, I know that cape cod is quite abrasive - will it damage the crystal in any way?

Crystal is made of artificial sapphire (corundum), short of a diamond tipped cloth you aren't going to damage it with a bit of Cape Cod :-)

Just wanted to let you all know the Cape Cod Cloth came today and it worked a treat. My watch it back in it's original state after 8 months of struggling with a tarnished watch face!

I had also bought Polywatch but that didn't help as much as the cloth. I'll keep both for future touch ups.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Just saw that there's still some minor work to do on the crystal, only shows up when looking at it through a camera lens actually. I'll have to revisit and buff it out more.

Here's a photo of the work so far, sorry had to post with a pic from my phone

Toothpaste (not gel) also works.
