I'll let you know when mines back from being repaired in Switzerland. 9 weeks and waiting
Thanks for the offer, I'm indeed very interested. 9 weeks sounds like a very long time, i'm sorry to hear that. Do you have any indication on when you can expect it back ?

Now, it's obviously sorted out but you'll have to be cautious because retailer/AD/boutique could be having one or more B50s from some old stock but shiny and brand new on display which could give you hiccups. New stock should be good, obviously!
My thoughts exactly. From other posts here I understood it's quite common to get a choice between a watch in stock (if available) or one ordered from Breitling, is that true ? In that case I'll be happy to wait a few weeks and let them order one at Breitling. If possible I think that's the safest option.

So, speak to the seller, avoid pieces which were manufactured more than a year earlier & take an informed decision if you love the model. If you still can't make up your mind, then you can wait for the B55, if that interests you. But then, you never know what problems that initial run could have with all the Bluetooth and quartz complexities!! Just my 2 cents.
Feature wise I do like the B55, but I don't like the looks of it in the pictures available and the fact that they only speak about an iPhone app so far. If they release the details of the communication protocol between the phone and the watch I'll be more than happy to write my own, but my current impression with Breitling is that that won't happen.

My B50 is a May purchase but I don't have the manufacture date. It has been near to flawless but for the fact that at about 30% battery life, most functions shut down. That may be perfectly normal but I have never checked the manual. The answer to that, of course is charge it more than once every month and a half...
Good to here positive experiences too. The manual indeed describes different levels of operation, but most of them state "The digital functions are operational", so that doesn't seem to match your experience.
