What is best practice for long term storage? Around 3-4 months. I am impartial to watch winders.

Is it ok to leave the watch unwound for 4 months? Will that affect the movement by sitting idle?

It's not going to hurt the movement, but if you are able to give the watch a full wind once a month then do so (with the chrono running if it has one). That will help to prevent the oils from migrating from where they are needed.
