Tunnel ling, I slightly disagree with your size statement. Sure, the Datora is not small if you just consider the case. But, when considering all the things going on at the dial it really is a bit too small - it would benefit from being a bit wider/larger to increase readability.
You should try it with your glasses on...
Well, following that argument then the watch should be at least 50mm, but I agree that it definitely should not be any smaller. I think that part of the appeal of some of Breitling's watches are the busy yet organized dials. It does not help legibility but then again even a traditional slide rule is not all that legible.
I used to not like the navitimer series and thought that I wouldn't own one because of the business fo the dial. But I now thoroughly enjoy them. My cosmonaute is not the easiest watch to tell time with, and I enjoy that. Maybe I'm becoming a watch sadist?
I think the datora is a beautiful watch but there are some dial colors I would stay away from because they are too confusing. My preference is the white dial followed by black.
it would be interesting to strectch one out in pshop and see what sizes are best. Here is an idea for Breitling: offer the same navitimer watch in different sizes. Like what they do fo rthe SOH.
