Hi

First post - I recently got a CSO (steel bracelet, blue dial). I think it's very nice, but I have a query.

When using the chronograph function I have noticed the minute totaliser ticks on one minute when the second hand is at 59 seconds, rather than at zero seconds. Is this normal?

It means that unless I remember it happens, I will read the wrong elapsed time whenever the second hand is between 59 and 60 seconds - i.e. one in sixty times on average. In fact the first time I used the chronograph this happened - I read 3m 59.5s as 4m 59.5s because the minute totaliser had counted on early (this is how I first spotted it happening).

If this is normal, does anyone know exectly when the minute hand ticks on?

e.g. what is the correct elapsed time id the minute totaliser reads 10, and the second hand reads 58s, 58.75s, 59s or 59.25s?

Because of the nature of the mechanism within a chronograph there is usually some slight movement of the minute hand at 59+ seconds, but the tick should happen at 0. Take it back to the AD and get it fixed - sounds as though the minute gear wheel is not aligned quite correctly.

To answer your question though, I'm sorry I can't be of much help. I've tested a few of my chronos and they jump the minute hand after passing the full 60 seconds. If your dilemma is unusual or not, and if it's easy to fix, I think you get a better answer if Watchmakeress or someone else with the profession answers.
