Curious to see what the general consensus would be regarding this idea:

2000 Crosswind, two-tone. Intended project would be to replace the tabs and screws with stainless, and possibly changing the push buttons and crown (AD work of course to maintain seal integrity). Additionally, switching out the two-tone pilot with perhaps a neutral strap, or possibly rubber.

I've decided the two-tone thing just isn't me anymore. I think going with as much stainless as possible is a more classic and understated look; therefore would match the rest of my overall tastes in terms of clothes.

Thoughts?

I suppose it's possible, but it sounds like a lot of work that won't come cheap. Getting a new watch might be the wiser approach ;)

I agree with Mario. Should be possible, but is probably quite expensive (unless you've got a friend doing it on his spare time). Interesting thought though!

This must have been a REALLY stupid idea to have 27 views and two responses.

I'll take the hint.

:yeahthat If you sell the TT Crosswind, you'll get more for it than what the SS one would cost to buy, so you'll be quids-in..... instead of replacing gold parts which will make you (seriously!) "quids-out"!

Unless you can find a buyer for the gold pieces - last time I checked replacement gold rider tabs were something like $150 - more for the lumed one.

And that my friend was the real impetus behind nearly selling it last year.
