I just got a watch back from being serviced at Breitling USA. I went to put it on and noticed near the clasp, the braclet was missing a screw. So I headed off to the new Breitling Boutique at The Forum Shops in Las Vegas to see if they had one. They didn't have one so but directed me to their main store (The Jewelers) which was a couple of miles away where they had a Breitling certified watchmaker.

I got to The Jewelers, told them my story and they were very helpful. The manger (owner?) told the watchmaker to take a screw from one of their spare links vice out of their extra screw bin to ensure it was the right one. He also gave me a Breitling pen. Then he told me the number one guy from Breitling USA along with the number five or so guy from Breitling HQ in Switzerland were due to arrive in minutes, would I like to meet them? Sure!

So I met them and had a couple minutes of general conversation. Then the Swiss guy went off with the owner and I had the Breitling USA head guy to myself. As we looked at the watches I mentioned that my next Breitling would probably be a Transocean as it and the Navitimers were the only ones from recent years that appealed to me. "Really? Why's that?" So I got my chance to complain about the new bezel styles, rubber bezels and how they were moving away from the traditional Breitlings. Bring back the rider tabs! I even mentioned this was a common theme from many on breitlingsource.com. He said that he's definitely heard of this site and they (Breitling) are aware of the number of hardcore Breitling fans that come here. It was an interesting conversation and both thanked me very graciuosly for owning Breitlings and giving them feedback on their product.

Sounds like it definately wasn't a wasted journey, and thanks for putting your (our) views across.
It would be interesting to know how many new era Aeromarine watches they've sold in the first year compared to original Aeromarines in it's first year. Might give an indication how how 'popular' the new look is.
I for one, keep seeing SO Abyss 42's on ebay at very cheap prices. Almost as low as a 6 yr old Steelfish.

I am really crappy with names. The store owner told me their positions with Breitling and they gave me their names when we shook hands, which I promptly forgot. Breitling USA was a white guy, late 30s to mid 40s, dark hair of medium length cut around his ears, about 5' 11" or 6' (my height). Swiss guy was also white, taller with closely cropped (maybe even balding) salt & pepper hair.

Edit: Just googled the two names and I believe it was Thierry Prossert but I didn't notice much of an accent and I wouldn't have known he was French. Also, when I did the search, a picture of of a guy named Thierry Rissent came up at a Breitling VIP party. He could be the guy from Breitling HQ, looks very similar.

you got em backwards, but thats them, thierry is president of breitling usa, he is the taller balding french guy, great guy. very nice. lives right near me, see him all the time

Theirry has a noticeable accent, and is a genuinely nice guy. A really nice fit after Marie, who essentially shaped Breitling in the USA over the past few decades. He is certainly open to hearing from customers and will truly listen when you voice your opinion.

Oh, and make no mistake, Breitling Source is known at Hangar 7.
