I am guessing it is mostly from habit. When I come home I empty my pockets, take off my shoes, and put whatever watch I am wearing away. If I am not wearing something very comfortable then I change as well.

Bought my SA last December. Haven't taken it off. I even had it on while using a jackhammer once by mistake. Didn't hurt it a bit. Just got a new Chrono Auto before Christmas. Planning on wearing it everyday also. At least until I buy another next year.

Yes but not when I would do obvious damage to even a G-shock. Wear it to work, not for work.
Be safe, Frank.

Just got my first, a Navitimer World, and I'll be wearing it except while flying, or helping in and around, single-engine seaplanes.

I wear Either a Breitling Rolex or Eterna everyday. I favor wearing Breitlings they seam to wear and feel better than a Rolex. The only time I take off the watch I am wearing is to shower or change watches! I do wear my Superocean to shower

I wore my TO whilst making love to the wife the other night. I normally take a watch off first, but as it was the TO that caused the tiff in the first place, I figured I'd put the issues to bed in one go. As she said herself, the watch thing was behind her. For a few minutes at least she was right.

You guys wear the watch when you sleep too?...I've banged my watch against the misses' head by mistake a few times so take it off before sleeping now. Lol.

Well I've only had my Breitling 2 days and I'm a little more careful with my stuff in general. But 9 years ago, when I bought my first nice watch a Sea Dweller, I beat the shit out of it. Seriously was looking like it had been through war. My other nice watches got used/worn everyday as well. I'm not in the habit of buying things to let them collect dust in a box or a safe. Even with my knives, doesn't matter if it's the most expensive custom in my collection, I wear the thing. Guns, same thing. I shoot them, they get scratched, get holster wear, etc.

Sure, a stainless steel Breitling isn't cheap. But it's not a Patek or limited edition by Vacheron, or a A. Lange & Söhne either. These watches (as are steel Rolexes) were made to be worn. I'm not saying make an effort to bang your watch on ever door, wall, corner, street sign you pass, but daily wear is (hopefully) what you bought the watch for. And I'm sure the Breitlings can take it.

+1 for the guys that take it off if they're hammering, being excessively rough, etc. If you are in a location (like your home) where you can take it off and not lose it (have it stolen), take it off. Personally I don't find wearing a watch while hammering all that practical.

With or without the watch then that means your hitting your wife on the head as she sleeps? lol
