Hello everyone,

I just visited an AD in my area looking to buy another Breitling. I was quoted $2,200  for a Steelfish with brown smooth leather and deploymnet buckel. What do you guys think of the price. Thanks in advance for the info....

I currently have a Choromat Evo.

If that's OTD (out the door) it's great. With tang buckle they retail for 26-ish.

I dont know the retail price for the SOS with deployant, but im guessing about $2800. Dont forget, the deployant buckles are ridiculously expensive. Given my $2800 estimate, $2200 seems okay, though you can probably do a bit better. Somebody with a price list can give you the exact msrp, unless you already have it.

i think the list is 2.6k

2.2 is not bad (16% off list with no tax?)

but i think better can be had, esp with some retailers who have older stock prior to the price increase but i think a lot of haggle is involved

this is just my opinion from limited experience

That would be the retail for the regular tang buckle strap. The deployant is much more expensive.

List is $2,845 for the Steelfish with leather strap and deployant. $2200 would be approximately 22.5% off the list price which is excellent from an AD. If that includes tax then that would equate to almost 30% off which is a screamin' deal from an AD...

I never buy local because I don't want to be hit with 7-8% sales tax. I suspect the local ADs are a little cool to me because I look quite a bit but never buy from them.

My last Ling purchase was from an out-of-state AD than provided a much larger discount with no haggling and no sales tax. PM me for details.

I buy locally because after discount and tax, I end up with a net savings of about 22%, plus I dont have to wait or pay for shipping. They always offer to ship it out of state for me to a friend or family member (which ive considered), but I really just dont like to wait. Plus, you cant really put a value on a relationship with a local AD.

I second that, even in Rip-Off-Britain!
