Hi,

I have just bought my second Breitling - having been bitten by the bug. Sadly, although described as a gents watch it looks a lot smaller than my Avenger Sea Wolf. This is the model:

http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... er_80.html

Can anyone tell me anything about it?

I am going to sell it on, have you any idea how much it is worth (I paid £700 for it) and it is in immaculate, brand new condition (apart from the outside cardboard box, which is a bit worn) and comes with all the paper work.

I would be interested in a part exchange but have just stuck it up on eBay - should I have put it up for sale here first do you think? I'm in too minds what to do with it if it doesn't sell as I do quite like it, I just feel it's a tad small.

Any advice or background on the design would be much appreciated thanks.

It is a man's watch, but because it's 15 years old or more it's smaller than the current trends. Regular quartz movement and value is going to depend immensely on service history.

Thanks. It was bought in 2002, so maybe it had been sitting in a shop for a while. I'm not sure if the previous owner has had it serviced or not. To be fair, I doubt it.

I'll check the book for stamps. Could you give me a ball park figure at all? Although it may not have been serviced, it is in outstanding condition; on the outside at least.

I bought it expecting it to be the same size as my Sea Wolf, but that just wasn't the case. Sizewise, it could quite easily pass as a ladies watch I think.

Advice in the FAQs on pricing is to check completed sales on eBay and dealer asking prices on Chrono24. There are three on Chrono24 right now - http://www.chrono24.com/en/search/index ... tview=list

Thanks that's brilliant! If mine doesn't sell on eBay this info will help me if I try and pawn it or sell it at a local dealers.

It's a shame because I do love the colours, but I think I will just try and get my money back and put it into another watch.

Thanks again.

If it's the one sold on ebay a few days ago, it was mine. I sold it in 2008 because it was on the small side. The breitling source photo is your actual watch. I bought it in 2005 and never had it serviced. Steve

Yes, I bought it last week - asked for a refund when it arrived but was refused, so I'm trying to sell it on.

I'm confused - did you sell it to a woman then? You must have done as the box smells faintly of perfume - unless there's something you're not telling us! ;-)

As far as I was aware she had owned it since new but this is obviously not the case. How can you be so sure the watches are one and the same - do you remember the serial number or something?

It must have had an owner before you too as the booklet says the original date of sale was 2002 ir I remember correctly.

It is a nice watch, just shame about the size.

The warranty was stamped in Singapore in 2002 if i remember correctly. Serial No.1 50053 B55047. I sold it on Ebay for £850, but i can't remember who to. Steve
