I have a so42 abyss with yellow inner bezel on an ocean racer deployment, I love it.

Bigsymo's pics point up another difference between the two: the 42 has 1500m WR, and the 44 has 2000m WR. That extra 500m can come in handy if you're, you know...Aquaman.

Thanks for all the thoughtful replies, opinions, and pictures.. I think the Superocean 44 would have been perfect if Breitling had just put markers at the 6 and 9 position, all alone the numerals look a little odd to me. I do think the 44 is the better choice for me though, again thanks to the collective.
