Dont get me wrong about this... I am not just going around banging the Steelfish, I wear daily, into everything. I was just stating that it was nice that after I realized that daily worn meant "daily worn". I work with my hands every day. For the most part you cant tell ( from arms length ) that my watch is scuffed up. I think the brushed finish helps a lot with this.

Now on the other side of the coin.... my other Steelfish and expecially the Evolution are handled with care and I am very self concious about "watch to anything hard" contact. And the EVO gets the cape cod cloths every once in a while to bring it back to the factory shine.

Moral of the story, dont abuse your Breitlings but have at least one that you can wear without freaking out if the clasp gets scuffed up a little.

Scott

I agree, a watch is for wearing, although I'm extra careful with the polished bracelet on my SA

I don't like scratches on my watches, but your way of thinking surely makes it easier to live with them... :)

In a way I wish I was less bothered about scratches, but at least the polished models are easily sorted with a quick going over with the Cape Cods!

If I notice a little blemish, I have to break out the Dremel tool.

I'm very particular about my timepieces. I even brought my Cape Cods to work today to touch up my piece today (Roliin' the Nav-World today!)

A steelfish or a chrono avenger will have more character with the battle wounds of adventures unknown.

lol...best line.

I really dont worry about my steelfish, except for the crystal. I can be clumsy and careless at times, so damaging it is pretty much inevitable.

Cape Cods are all over eBay - and very reasonably priced.

When you polish you are taking a very small amount of metal away, so yes, over time you will make the watch lighter - but it's microscopic. Also, remember that you only need to polish the watch every few months - not every time you clean it.

Your watch isn't going to disappear from over polishing

I don't use my Cape Cods on a regular basis. I only use them when there's a visible scratch that bugs me!

I personally wouldn't recommend using them on a regular basis as even though they are very gentle for a polishing compound they do remove metal, and I like my watches to stay the size and weight they are!

Just polished the boys last night (Not THOSE boys!), and luckily I didn't notice any serious little scratches so it only took me about 10 minutes per watch. I had to give the ol' wedding ring a buff too. I love my Dremel.

Just make sure you go easy with that Dremel Brian. If you're not careful your 46mm World could be looking like a 38mm Monty in no time!
