Valid points. I'll have to make a visit to the AD. Thanks for your help.

Hi OsearyDrakoulias,

Congratulations on purchasing one of the finest looking Breitlings out there! :D

I have a Datora too and I repeat the advice of alien13 and others.

My date hand indicates the date perfectly for all numbers. My second hand points directly to the 12 position.

Yours needs to have these hands realigned by Breitling.

Best wishes
Stuart

Interesting thread for me as I have my Datora ordered and am just waiting for delivery from my AD. OsearyDrakoulias, please do keep us updated. I'm sure your AD, and Breitling, will take care of you.

Sweet watch, and great choice on color/bracelet combo...That's what I ordered. :D

Thanks Stuart! I'll probably take it in to my AD in the next couple weeks. Hopefully it wont be gone for long. Which dial do you have on your datora?

Congrats! Well, now you know based on my thread... if your watch has the same issues as mine, make them fix them before you even pick it up.

Another thing came to me. it is not advisable to adjust the watch time near midnight when the date is about to change. always stay away from adjusting your watch within the range of 9 pm until 4 am.

now you need to back with your memory and check if you have done that

I think I did do that the first day I had it, but the watch didnt know it was between 9pm and 4am because it was set wrong and thought it was 12 in the afternoon, so I'm sure it didnt have any effect. What will it do if you try to set the time around those times?

I am not sure what will be the impact, but I remember being warned against that and I think I have read it somewhere. As far as my memory can tell, it is said that it might affect the smooth transition of date mechanism, hence the not properly aligned date hand (i am still not 100% sure about how significant this impact will be)

in any case you will take your watch back to the AD, so consult with him about that as well and let us know about the outcome

All the best.

You can change the time whenever you like.

What you can't do is use the quick set date function between 8pm and 3am. That's when the date change mechanism is partly engaged with the main movement (in order to change the date at midnight) and by turning the date movement while it is partially engaged you are likely to strip the teeth.

what do you mean by quick set date mechanism? I'm not sure I'm familiar with that.

The ability to change the date without changing the time - the first stop when you pull out the crown on watches that have the function.
