Perhaps this is stupid question but how easy (and expensive) is it to replace the dial on a breitling superocean and what are the impacts on value etc.

The reason was that I have been looking for a black faced version and seeing a lot more reasonably priced White and blue versions. Thought maybe could buy and get changed but if it should be avoided better to know now.

Don't waste your money. It's been discussed many times before, Breitling will charge you arounf $1,000 - $1,200 for the work including a full service, and you don't get the old dial back.

If you don't do it through Breitling then the watch will never be able to go back to Breitling for service which obviously has a huge impact on value.
