Hi, I'm looking to purchase the new Avenger model (black dial, pro II bracelet). I'm under the impression that this used to be called the 'Avenger Skyland' before this year. I have a few questions I'm hoping some forum members can help me with.

1. The Skyland's model number was A13380. Is this the same model number for the 'new' Avenger? Everything looks the exact same to me, only the name dropping the 'Skyland' Am I correct in assuming this?

2. I'm trying to find an AD to buy from that will give the best deal. I've heard Govberg's is known to discount heavily, are there any other possibilities? Also, what kind of percentage would I be looking at possibly getting off retail, maybe 20%-30%? or am I having too high of hopes?

Discounting depends on where you live and what AD you visit.

20% would be a good discount off a new watch on a cold (first time) purchase at an AD.

I believe that the only real differences between the Avenger Skyland and the Avenger are the name, obviously, some different color dials and I think that the Skyland has white arabics whereas the Avenger's arabics are polished, but I'm not positive on that. You can also try sending FEAR a PM for info on Provident Jewelers, he seems to be able to find what people want.

Skyland has the white arabics. Avenger has the choice of polished metal arabics or batons.

Model number is the same between them - think of it as a minor design change as described by the guys above, with a name change at the same time. Govberg through jnelson3097 and Provident through FEAR are the two US AD sponsors.

30% is pushing it now because last year saw a dealer cost increase without a retail price increase, but 20 - 25% shouldbe achievable.

I am in the same boat, currently searching for the right Avenger to purchase. I am willing to purchase a used Skyland in excellent/mint condition, but really looking at a new one. Someone mentioned the baton dial on the new Avenger, is this true?

Yes, the baton dial is available in volcano black, tungsten gray, or stratus silver.

Wow...the baton dial is beautiful!

I believe another (minor) difference between the Avenger and Avenger Skyland is, just as the the arabic numbers went from painted white to polished, so did the minute, hour, and chrono seconds hands.
