Hi guys, have a couple of Breitlings already. a black Airwolf, a yellow M1 and a blacksteel Skyland and am looking for another addition. After some searching I settled on a Skyracer so went to an AD to try one on. Now, I knew the price before I went but after holding it in person I was a little bit put off. Not by the piece, just by the price. I'm in the UK and most of the popular Professional and Aeromarine models (e.g. Airwolf, Aerospace, Seawolf, M1, Skyland, Super Avenger etc can be found at or around the £2200 mark. But the Skyracer is a whopping £800 more! Now, the bracelet is shared with most other models, the case and pushers and crown look (to me) like the same as the Airwolf. I'm not asking where to find one cheaper, I'm asking if people know where the extra money goes. The case, caseback and dial are less detailed than the Airwolf, the water resistance is less than most others, so what gives? Is the movement really that much better made? Please help. I really like it but am finding it hard to justify it unless there is a good reason. Other than buying what appeals.

There's no way I would buy a Skyracer over an Avenger Skyland or Super Avenger.

In my opinion, there are many better looking Breitlings for less that are much more satisfying, functionally and asthetically.

I agree that the Skyracer is way overpriced...

I'd probably agree the Skyracer is a little expensive. Occasionally you do find the odd Breitling in the range that just seems to be priced slightly incorrectly. If anything, to me the SA is slightly underpriced for what you get (not that I'm remotely complaining about that!), while the SuperOcean Heritage seems exceptionally over-priced for what it is. Who know's why.... :?

I completely agree with Driver. I believe the price increase on the SA will be slightly more than on other models, since it's selling so well and the demand is really sick (the old demand vs supply...). For the same reason, I believe that models not selling so good that we might see as a bit overpriced today, will get a smaller share of the total increase.
