Good to know. Is this inherent to most watches or is this specific to Breitlings?

All mechanical watches will behave that way - it's gravity on the balance.

And yes, winders change behaviour but that could compensate or exaggerate.

Back when I used to care about this stuff, I would spend a few days figuring out how each watch in each position. Sometimes I would get -1 in one position, and +2 on the wrist. With this knowledge, I could position it -1 each night to end up with a net gain of +1 per day. A lot of people are able to keep their watches surprisingly accurate by figuring out the deviations specific to their watch.
