Hey guys I am a newbie here and have just bought my first Breitling! I purchased a new Montbrillant Olympus and paid $5300 for it. I was just curious if any of you knew whether or not this was a good price and what others have paid on here for the same watch? Thanks in advance for any input I receive here!

That's quite a discount from list so sounds like a pretty good price. Better on bracelet than on tang calf, but still a good deal.

That's certainly a very nice first Breitling you have. Congrats on the purchase!

Thanks guys! It is on a bracelet and my wife got it for me from Costco. I am going to Costco today to have them contact BUSA and make sure they are authorized to fill out my warranty card, does anyone know anything about this? If it cannot be done then I will most likely take it back and buy a basic Navitimer on a calf strap from my local AD, any thoughts? If I end up keeping it I will definitely get pictures up soon!

No Costco is not a Breitling AD and BUSA will not honor a 2 year factory warranty from a Costco sale. That's the trade off on a "grey market purchse" - lower price versus the 2 year factory warranty. You got a trmendous price - don't sweat it.

BUT please - before you set the date or anything else - follow the manual to the letter.

Now wait a second!!! Your wife goes to Costco and comes home with an Olympus for YOU??? The most my wife ever brought home for me was a 24 pack of briefs.

Does you wife have any single sisters.

Congratulations that does sound like a great deal. It's true that Costco is not an authorized dealer and in Breitling's mind they are grey market but the great news is that you're better off with Costco than any other grey market dealer on the planet. If you have any problem with that watch now, in 2 years or in 10 years Costco will take it back and give you a full refund. So at least you should have some great peace of mind that Costco will stand behind everything they sell.

Is that your bathroom counter? Great pic.

Great first watch also, congrats. Keep it and enjoy it, but like shark said, read the manual.

Thanks guys for all the comments. I am waivering a little bit because of the cost and was wondering what you guys thought of the new superocean? I went and tried one on today at the AD and it felt really nice! IMHO the Olympus is more flashy but the superocean seems very versatile, if only it came with a better bracelet. I may just have to take the Olympus back and pickup the Superocean, it is a beautiful watch and I could save some major coin!

I've never heard the Olympus called flashy....it's such a classy/dressy piece. A Bentley is flashy...not an Olympus. The SO is more versatile since it can be worn dressed up or down.

Wow you definitely went big and went with a great choice for your first Breitling. The MO is classy and I would definitely keep it over the the Superocean (if it's not breaking your bank). I would also consider Costco's return policy infinitely better than any warranty on any product out there :D ... that is if it is still the same from when a few years ago.
