Hi All,

Been lurking for a while but decided that it's time to buy my first Breitling.

It's been between the Navi World & the Montbrillant Legende but think I've finally decided on the Legende. I went to visit a few ADs and assumed I would go with the Black dial, however after seeing the Silver dial in the flesh I can only say that the photos do not do it justice. In fact I would also like to thank the contributors on here as the pictures on here from the people who also have one are better than the official Breitling ones.

Anyway, is now the correct time to pull the trigger?? I nearly purchased the Navi World 3 years ago when the RRP was £3530 - it is now £5080 in the UK on a steel bracelet. I'm thinking I need to buy before they get any higher but just wondered whether there are any imminent new model launches in the Navi range that I should hold on for?

The Legende is now £4770 in the UK, I think I have secured just over 15% off the price from an AD which doesn't seem too bad following my research. Just wondered whether any other UKers buy from UK or abroad?

Thanks you all - I'm so excited!! :D

There are other people on here that know a whole lot more than me,but I've seen some talk about the Navi getting an in-house movement, not sure when though. I don't know if that is something that you'd be willing to wait for. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Prices are only going to go up - that's the nature of things unfortunately. There will inevitably be an in house movement in a Navitimer at some point, and things seem to be pointing towards next spring's Basel for the announcement. However there is no guarantee that it will be in a comparable model to the World or the Legende and it will likely command a 20 - 25% premium over a generic movement.

There are always minor tweaks / refreshes to the watches, but if you like the watch today and can afford it then I say go for it and don't worry about what might happen in the future.

Andrew Michaels (link at the top of the page) might be worth contacting to see what they can do for you price wise in the UK.

I purchased my silver dial Legende from Andrew Michaels just a couple of months ago and got a great deal. If I were you give them a phone, great to do business with and mine arrived a day after they had posted it.

You could try Govberg in the US but seems to me that Andrew Michaels are competing really well at the moment with across the pond, certainly with my last two purchases anyway.

Cheers

PS make sure you get one before the turn of the year with VAT going up to 20%

Thanks to you all - I think I will contact Andrew Michaels too to see what they can do. I've just been looking at the air show pictures where they ran the hospitality - looks awesome.

I think everyone is right about potential changes - I'm happy with the watch I've seen so I know I need to go for it. I could delay forever thinking the same thing!

I also considered the Legende Limited Edition as I believe there were only 1000 being made. However when I asked the dealer to check stock with Breitling, I was told they had sold out but would be willing to make me one if I could wait 10-12 weeks. This kind of defeated the object of having a limited edition for me if they are prepared to make more than the set limit.

By the way, this has been a really hard decision. After looking through everyones pictures on here there are so many beautiful pieces. It's such a shame I can only buy one (for now).

The navitimer with b01 movement will be released next year. They didn't do it this year by the global economic crisis. (as told by BArg)

That most likely means that they will increase the price on the Navitimer.

I'm pretty sure that anything with an in-house movement is going to be at least a one or two grand more. Just look at the price difference between the Chronomat and the B01. Granted the B01 is a new design, but the difference between the prices of the two seems to be for more than just the cosmetic changes.
