"My Breitlings have garnered many more comments than my other watches, mostly I attribute this to their size and high polish finish. Almost all Breitlings are eye catchers after all.

I have gotten a ton of "Is that a Breitling?" questions. Not is that real, or what is that. Most of the people who ask that question also follow with the standard what model? what did it cost you? I dont take offense to these questions because the people who ask them seem to have a genuine interest in Breitlings and are probably looking for some more information on them. I respond by giving them the name of my AD and saying he gave a good deal on the price, if you are interested go check out their selection.

I have gotten the ignorant people who say my Timex or Casio keeps better time for a 1/100th of the price. I tend to refrain debating with these people the difference between wearing a Digital Casio and a Ling. Usually I just shrug it off and say some people like cars, some people like guns, some people like boats, I like watches.

As far as my Rolex goes, most people assume that it is a fake. "I can tell thats not a real Rolex." "Really? How?" "It doesnt have the date bubble." "Thats because its a Sea Dweller and not a Submariner." I dont really care what people think of my watches, I purchased them because they bring me joy, and I appreciate the design, and the care and precision that went into manufacturing it. Conversely, I would never be a watch snob to someone else. I have seen too many ignorant people with an expensive watch on their wrist denegrate others for having what they deem a second or third rate timepiece, when they have little knowledge of the Horological world themselves. To them its about a price tag, not design or the history of a particular company. So whether its a Rolex, Ling, Seiko, Tag, or a Citizen, wear it with pride. You spent your hard earned money on it, and it brings you joy, and you know that your's is genuine and not a cheap knockoff you bought to impress others."

Agree completely!

Wore my brand new Avenger Skyland Blacksteel at work today. Comments were:
"Sexy"
"Hot looking watch"
among others.
This is incredible watch. The fact that there are only 2000 in the whole world does make me feel good. I can't say that was not a factor in deciding to get it. I doubt that I will ever see a watch quite like it again. The chances of even seeing one on anyone else's wrist are slim indeed. My father bought himself, my brother and I each a gold Omega Automatic Constellation in 1966, when I was sixteen. That was pretty special. Unfotunately, mine was stolen in 1970. I am going to make damn sure nothing happens to this Blacksteel. This is a special watch indeed.
Cheers,
Carl

I usually spend at least 2 hours every Sat or Sun looking at watches. Some people go to the auto mall and I go to the watch dealers. Most of my friends and family think I'm nuts. I don't have to justify anything. I don't spend a lot of money on jewelry, other than a few rings. My main items of jewelry are my watches. My two Breitlings, a new Steelfish and a new Avenger Skyland Blacksteel are works of art. Most people have no idea about the amount of work that goes into these watches. My main argument is "How many cars do you know that appreciate in value over the years?" I have a 70's Tudor Prince Oysterdate Ranger II, which I paid about $300.00 for. It is now worth about $2000.00 retail, according to my AD. My first Breitling, in the 80's, was a Colt Quartz, cost me about $500.00. In 1997, my AD took it as a trade for a new SuperOcean, and gave me a credit of $800.00. The main thing is the pleasure I get out of these fine timepieces, and this is made even more pleasurable by being able to share my feelings with all of you in this forum.
Cheers,
Carl

The Breitling SuperOcean has been entitled as “Queen of the Seas”. I had been using this product since its debut. And it has been among the PERFECT dive-watches I've ever worn. Since I've gifted this watch to several of my buddies and I always adore its polished SS case, and you know polish is the sort where scratches are not as apparent as on other shiny cases. It's a plus point, too. It's my squeezy love now! :D
