Hi I'm currently looking at a 1000$ vintage chronograph in Europe. Refinished dial. No serial or ref. nr. It states "Breitling" on dial and on the bridge (attached photo), but it has a landeron movement (..right?). Browsing these forums alerted me to the fact, that vintage Breitling watches generally have venus movements in the 40s and 50s. So is this Breitling bridge a fake? I'm not a collector and I like the look of the watch despite its modifications. I just don't wanna pay extra for a "Breitling", which is just an unknown vintage chronograph. Thank you for your help. Appreciated. Best regards Val |

Its fake for sure. No serial number is the surest way to know. |

What you have here is a 100% fake watch (I’m saying that based on the single picture of a Landeron with a fake chrono bridge so maybe I’m missing something). A parallel would be like if you ordered a kit car, with a small block Chevy engine in it, and then put a replica Porsche badge on the hood and tried to say it was sort of a Porsche. In the unlikely event that you ever found a watch with a real dial and a movement taken from a Breitling and put into another case, you would never be able to prove it started off life all together and in any case would be worthless and considered a fake/frankenwatch. Hope this is helpful. |
