Post subject:  Need help authenticating 806 AOPA & 2110 CHRONOMATIC

Hi all,
I was hoping the navi & chronomatic experts could help me identify the authenticity of this navi 806 I saw in this vintage dealer today in W 57Th st in Manhattan. Im concerned because of a few things; First, this NYC dealer, to me, just seems a bit shady. They used to have a storefront a block away, closer to 5th ave., closed down and recently opened up in this new location, under a new name a block away. In the store's previous incarnation, they didnt have many good reviews on yelp. The 806 offered for sale is gold but I cant place the date. My brief research leads me to believe that its from the 60s but I question the watch dial itself - it doesnt have the box around the 10 as this one: shorturl.at/hFHMR - nor does it same hands as this one http://shorturl.at/DLR46 (not to say that this is link is correct either). I dont have the serial number nor I havent seen it opened up.

The second is a chronomatic 2110 surfboard dial. The serial number seems to be correct for the watch as dating it to 1969 but the hands, chrono hand & sub-dials don't seem to be correct, again according to my online research from bjmcfp1's photo http://shorturl.at/cmxES. In the ****** article about the chronomatics, they only show examples of the surfboard dial in the square/cushion case, not the pizza case.

Im sort of a novice at buying vintage from unknown sources and for the amount of money we're talking about, it scares the heck out of me.
Thanks in advance
Mark

Navitimer is fine, ca. 1966
2110 is all wrong - hands incorrect and surfboard dials came on the 2111 only.

Thank you so much for your input. Really appreciated. If I go forward with the Navi, once opened up, anything specific I should look out for?

watch looks untouched, so no big worries.
post a movement pic for verification all is correct if u want - and the serial inside the caseback if u want to date it.

Hi @watchfred
I finally got a chance to have the Navi 806 up & photograph it. I couldn’t seem to get a clear inside case back photo though. I did notice the regulator index seems to be missing & im a bit concerned about the different/inconsistent finishing of the parts. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks in advance, Mark

Dont pay over the odds. Gold-plate sells for quite a lot less than steel.
