Unfortunately there isn't one, I have the opportunity to buy this, just wanted to make sure I wasn't buying a fake.

I know it doesn't have a caseback, hence the smile. Impossible to find a 799 caseback. But everything else is fine.

Do the numbers on the dial look original or repainted?

without caseback $2000 - $1500 is too much , $1000 is a gamble and $500 is a 'i can spend the next 10 years finding a caseback' price

Wasn't the 800 supposed to have the moon phase, not the 799? Just curious

Are you referring to a Chronomat 801? Both are moonphases but 799 is triple date.

I thought the 799 was only a triple date not moon phase? Unless the buyer at that time had breitling modify it into a phase of the moon?

There are some non-moonphase 799s but these are rare. Most have moonphase at 12.
