Hi,

I have a question regarding a potential acquisition re a Breitling Cosmonaute 809-36

It has the less desirable valjoux movement but my question is regarding the dial.

It has the gold hands & dials seen on the gold model. Wondering if the variations is seen on this steel model of this year 1970?

I doubt it’s a Franken as all parts seem to age consistently but would like to here from others just to be sure.

Thanks
Kris

It’s definitely a Franken watch; those hands and dial go to a gold/GP watch.

Probably a put together , because gold imprint dial and gold plated hands do not match with the SS case . I say probably because -36 and -E versions correspond to occasional and limited production during Venus 178 shortage periods . I guess that specific dials were procured in small quantities- feet position is different from regular V178 dials .
So probably a put together but possibly not ?
Maybe an optical illusion but diameter of pusher heads look a bit small .
SN 1361480 dates a 1971 watch .
