But Ive been gathering some info over the years (who hasnt ?) and stuck it into a presentation

Have a glance and please comment , but be gentle
And I am not concluding a lot yet , look at it as a discussion opening
For instance, the supposedly misprinted early 806's with a serial that starts with an 8 but really start with 9 etc , I have not concluded yet , maybe a conclusion will follow naturally from the gathered data ?

I cant upload the PDF's so I have linked them from elsewhere

Roff, If you can put it on the site somewhere I can take these links off ?

presentation http://members.casema.nl/rene.kesting/806/806.pdf

data http://members.casema.nl/rene.kesting/806/806%20investigation.xls

Right click on link,. choose 'save as' and open locally to prevent viewing issues

Great job Dracha!

I'll need to go through it in more detail to provide some more considered thoughts, but a couple of brief knee jerk comments

- The serial # gaps may well be due to shared serial number ranges between chrono and non chrono
- There were a number of beads of rice variations, not simply small / large but 4 or 5 different bead counts

If you have more info on the serial numbers and the bezel bead counts I can add (and recount the beads again :( )

Dracha, the serial numbers have already been cleared last year. (Vide letter from Breitling / viewtopic.php?f=11&t=19598 )

Counting beads truly is a hell of a job. My recommendation: Take a pic of the watch/bezel, make an enlarged printout and count the beads by writing beside each bead the number. Repeat at least 3 times on a new printout. If the results differ, ..... start all over again!

Thanks Chris !

regarding the serial numbers , I believe there's enough evidence (even without the Breilting letter) to say that there are no pre-'54's

but personally I have never seen any more than the 2 different bezels , even after recounting several all the large beads seems to have the same numer and so do the small beads ?

and the spreadsheet with details assists me in dating something correctly , to see if the movement is correct or whether or not work was performed on it

I started going through the links in your Excel spreadsheet, just haven't had time to count them all and get consistent numbers.
