I'm thinking of purchasing a pre-owned black dialed Bentley Flying B Chronograph. I know that very few people share my tastes but I absolutely love it.

The other two Breitlings I'm considering are a brown dialed Bentley 6.75 and a black-eyed blue SOH chronograph.

Anyone have any thought, opinions or arguments which might sway my decision one way or another? Thanks in advance.

My advice would be - if you like the Flying B Chrono, then go for it. I always say you should buy watches for yourself and never for what others may or may not think. The FBC is really nicely made, chunky but still quite a dressy watch, and I guarantee you will rarely (if ever!) see another one on anyone else's wrist. The other good thing is that the relative lack of love for it means that prices often aren't too bad.

In terms of the others, then I've only owned the 6.75 myself, and it too was a very nice watch, but it's too large and "in-your-face" for me these days. Given the choice now, I'd definitely go for the FBC as it's a little bit of a different choice.

I agree with Driver8. Buy the watch that you like and enjoy it. When I was just starting out with owning better watches I had a very arrogant watch guy say something about my Nav that stuck with me for years. I should never have let his ignorance effect my enjoyment of my watch and have learned to let that kind of remark slide off my back. Buy the Bently and enjoy it if that is what you like. I think it is a very distinctive watch that you will not see another in any room you are in. Post photos if you do get it.
P/s: I still have my Nav and love it.

Agreed with the above. Watches are something of personal taste and preference and everybody like something different. So if you like it, definitely go for it and enjoy it. Don't let someone else's dislike of a particular watch sway your opinion. Just be sure to go second hand or steeply steeply discounted because if you do get bored of it and want to move it the resale value is going to be brutal.

Thanks for the replies. I already have a blue dialed super Avenger and a 16610 submariner. I like the Flying B because it is very different from those two.
