Hi all,

I just bought an Avenger II GMT, wore it for couple of days than stopped wearing it. Today I wanted to wear it but it was not moving, so I started by winding it and changing the date. I did not realize that the watch was set at 9:30 PM until it was too late.

Now did I damage my watch and what would be the extent of the damage, would I need to send it for checking and repair ?

Did you have to force the date change and has the date change stopped working?

The watch stopped on 19 May, by mistake I brought the date to 20.

When I adjusted it properly the date changed between 19 to 20 at 12:10, For other days it changes at 12:00 sharp.

Sounds like it is probably OK if it is still changing everyday at the right time.

I tried to change the time to make many 24 Hrs rotations and found that for some days the date changed at 12:00 am sharp while on other it changed between 11:55 PM and 12:00 AM. Don't know whether I should worry or just forget about it.

I always thought the issue was winding it backwards during that date change window of 8-3. I thought you could always wind forwards (and flip the date) without damage. Is that wrong? What do you do, just wind it up and wait for it to get past that time period before changing?

You can wind time forward, you can't (safely) use the quick set date.

Thanks, I didn't know that. Don't think I've ever had to do it thankfully!
