Hi guys I am brand new to the fourm, and was hoping you can give me some advice. I have a friend who is in a jam financially and is looking to sell his breitling chronomat evolution. The watch is practically brand new, and is willing to sell it to me for $3,500 is it worth it?

any advice or input would be great!

Generally you won't get much response on pricing threads, the FAQs recommend checking completed sales on eBay and dealer asking prices on Chrono24 (remembering that those are generally dealers). You can also see what people have been asking for them in the sales section here. It is a commonly sold watch so there are plenty of comparables available.

If he has all boxes/papers and the watch is on a Pilot bracelet, you're friend should be asking slightly under 3K.

I took the plunge and bought it Breitling Chronomat Evolution white dial for $3300.00 He didnt have the box and papers, however I brought it to my local AD who checked it out and was legit. He couldnt believe the overall condition of it being "pre owned" he had also just had it serviced on 4/30/2013 for $800 so I wont have to service anytime soon plus a 2 year warranty on the internals.

I ended up getting $2900 after listing it for a few months.

Cool. Congrats on your new watch. The evo is a great piece. IMO it screams breitling and has that sex appeal to it. Easily one of my favorites. Post some pics when you have time.

Here is mine. Image
