....It has
1. Raised and Etched Metal Breitling Logo on the dial AND
2. The Stopwatch Hand has the Winged B at the other End.

It is these 2 that give Breitlings that special, classy, well-finished look that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when I see one.

A)The B-2, Skyracer, Blackbird, Bentley 6.75, etc have Both. (Full Ling Allright!)
B)The B-1, Super Ocean, Cosmonaute, etc have only the Winged B Hand but no Breitling Raised Metal Logo on Dial (Only an inscribed logo) (Still got the Ling Look)
C) The Super Avenger has the Breitling Raised Metal Logo but no winged B hand. (Size and Logo on Dial enough for me)
D)The Chrono Avenger, Avenger Skyland, etc have neither. (Sorry guys, you don't make my cut!)

I know there are tons of AS Fans out there to get me
Just my honest opinion, guys! I still love the Ling!

I think you have the SuperOcean flipped around, it has a raised logo but no winged B seconds hand.

What about the entire Navitimer line? None of those have applied wings logos, since it doesn't suit the style.. are they not good enough? ;)

I know what you are doing Site Admin... He! He! :) .. Baiting me to turn not only the CA/ AS fans but also the Navitimer Fans into thirsting for my blood! :D

Well.. my take on your question is - When the Ling is probably one of the most counterfeited brands - the only 2 things even the best counterfeiters almost always screw up on are - a) The Raised Applied Metal Breitling Logo on the Dial and b) The Winged B on stopwatch hand.

Printed/Etched Breitling Logos (like on the CA/ AS / Navitimer) are perhaps the easier to replicate.

And hence my preference for the above 2 as a mark of full-blooded Ling-ness!

If you only had the raised logo and winged B to go on, yes, perhaps the replicas would be easier to spot but imho, copies scream it for the most part

as far as 'full ling' goes, that is a misnomer...a term invented here for fun and yup, you'd better have an asbestos suit handy if you start slagging navitimer owners.....in my mind, the Navitimer is the quintessential Brietling, no collection of breitlings should miss out a navitimer of some sort.

ok, off my soapbox

im sure it's just a bit of fun :) but dont forget the Headwind in your "full ling" status. it has one of the largest applied logos, and the required anchor hand! No bias from me of course :)

No no no, I feel I need to step in at this point if only to keep Ling Man's blood pressure down!

A true "Lull Ling" is described thus - "A fully polished Breitling watch measuring at least 46mm in diameter (not including crown/pushpieces, etc), with 24mm lugs, on a bracelet". That's it. Nothing else qualifies for "Full Ling" status!

So according to "The Full Ling Rules", even my white dial SA doesn't qualify as it's on croco strap.

We'll need a new classification if we're going to insist on applied logos, winged anchor second hands, coz IT AIN'T A FULL LING requirement!

(I don't know why I'm defending this because I don't even like the term "LING" anyway! )

Right - really easy from my perspective - if it says Breitling on it (and it's real!) then it's a full bodied Breitling!

I suppose my 2004 SuperOcean (with printed logo) doesn't count then.

Apparently not!

( All this Full Ling, Half Ling, 7/8th Ling stuff is all just a laugh really and not worth getting too hung up about. I do thoroughly recommend the bigger watches myself though, but at the end of the day you have to just buy whatever you feel comfortable with. And after-all, ALL breitlings are superb!).
