If you are not feeling the SOII what about the Avenger Seawolf?

In regard to the font I don't care for the stenciled font too much, not really a show stopper, but since there are other options available I decided against it.

I voted black, but I really don't like this watch so I'm not exactly impartial. I'd say definitely try one on first before you decide.

I did the same and for the same reasons, this new version does not appeal to me either for some reason.

Another option is you can get ya a pre-loved Super Ocean, save some dough, still get ya a yellow dial, and get your brushed Blackbird next year when you planned. You can pick one up on the Bay for $1000-$1200 complete w/papers & box...and in some cases with a bracelet and rubber straps in the mix.

I agree that the "old" one is much better looking, as is the Steelfish :)

I love the Seawolf in almost every aspect Sasho, minus two factors. First, I really can't stand the seconds hand with the square on it. Deal breaker for me. Secondly, not big on the stenciled arabics, I'm nomally a baton guy.

Great watch otherwise, if they had nearly any other seconds hand I would likely take it. Batons I would be in for sure, hence the Code Yellow w/ batons. I would have it minus the seconds hand.

Regular SO is no go Richard, that square second hand strikes again pre 07. I tried to love an 07+ but still not big on those arabics, just very close to my Colt auto II.

It seems you know exactly what you like and what you don't. This is a good thing. I think you'll be best served with the Blackbird...well, who wouldn't its awesome. If I were in your shoes then, I would hold on buying something now just for the sake of buying something and wait to get the "l'oiseau noir". You wont regret it :D

I really think the yellow stands out.

I like it!

The seawolf is available in standard, non-code yellow form with batons as well. Square seconds hand remains though.

Thanks for that Sasho & RJ. The two things that drive me nuts are the square seconds hand and the blatantly mismatched fonts in any watch.

As much as I want to go Blackbird, I just keep getting prices back that are a little higher than I am comfortable with.

That being said, I just got a package from BUSA... maybe they comp'd me one!

If so, Marie I <3 U!

Hi all,

This is my first post, and my first Breitling. I found the Superocean 2011 and fell in love with this watch for a number of reasons.

First I have a small wrist so I like the 42mm, just right.
Second, at 48 my eyes are not what they used to be. I like the large hands, plain black dial and large numbers. Put all this together means I can read the time without my glasses. (to bad I can't make out the date :)
Thirdly, the yellow is pure breitling and the one I had to have.

My only regret was that the dealer (in Grand Cayman) would not cut me a deal on the price, I paid the full $2,995. When I got home I found them on line for around $2,500.

Oh, well that is what I get for an impulse purchase (my wife almost killed me !!)

Here is a photo of my watch. Sorry if this is a little out of focus.

Cheers

Brian
